🌟 This Week at Chatswood...

'This is what the LORD says: "Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls. But you said, 'We will not walk in it.'"'
Jeremiah 6:16

This Weeks Lessons

Keep up with each week's lessons by following these links. Each week you'll learn a bit more about God and humanity. Just choose the sabbath school that you are in...
On page one of the Bible, God orders a beautiful world out of chaotic darkness within a sequence of six days. And on the seventh day, God rests. This introduces the major biblical theme of patterns of seven that conclude with God and humans resting together as partners. In this video, we explore the theme of seventh day rest and the biblical concept of Sabbath. We also look at why Jesus adopted this idea as a major part of his own mission to bring God's Kingdom to earth.

It’s almost time to launch our exciting Kids Club Program on the theme of Castles & Crowns. We will run the programs on the second sabbaths of the month beginning with July 10. The program will start promptly at 10am with a themed sabbath school program including crafts, games, memory verses, singing and more. And will be followed by the 11am divine service with puppets, storytelling and prize give away. We hope to see you and your family there. Bring a friend!

Please note: due to our hall renovation the Kids Club Program launch date will be delayed slightly to allow us to use the hall for the interactive segments of the program. It will now start on the July Date instead of the original June launch date.

The following dates are the dates for the Castles & Crowns Program:
July 10
August 14
September 11
October 9

Adventist Book Centres (ABC) are an important source of Christian resources, vegetarian foods, and non-alcoholic drinks. They also play a vital role in supporting our Sabbath schools, Adventurer clubs and Pathfinders.
The ABC operates from locations in Epping, Wahroonga, and our online store.
We want to know how we can serve you better. Whether or not you currently shop at the ABC, we value your insights.
The survey takes around 10 minutes to complete. Thank you for helping us better help you.

🙏 Prayer

Special prayers for the COVID-19 Pandemic
God, when we sit at the edge of hope and uncertainty, fill our hearts with your peace which surpasses all understanding.
  • Pray that Australians will not have vaccination hesitancy and will be able to access vaccination sites
  • Pray that the revised vaccination schedules and the operation of the mass vaccination clinics will be well-formulated, the logistics of the delivery of vaccines throughout Australia will run smoothly and the accompanying advertising program will be successful.
  • Pray that any outbreaks of the spread of infection will be quickly brought under control and researchers will be able to identify and track cases to isolate the source(s)
  • Pray that the range of views about opening Australia’s borders will lead to the right decisions being made about the timing of these changes.
  • Pray that our leaders will have great wisdom as they decide what to do about the situation in India and the repatriation of Australian citizens there. Pray also for the leaders in India as they seek to bring the crisis under control, and the wider community who are in such danger with so many contracting the virus every day
  • Give thanks for those governments worldwide who are putting aside funds to assist poorer countries to have their own vaccination programs and pray that they will have great wisdom as they embark on the program that there will not be a “rich/poor divide” and there will be sufficient funds for all people needing vaccinations to receive them
  • Pray that we will be sensitive to the needs of others in our community who are suffering additional stresses as a result of measures that have been introduced to reduce the spread of the virus. Ask also that God will give us ways we can show His love to those around us.

General prayer points for this week
"Our heart, our reason, history itself, and the word of Christ, all call us loudly and decisively that a union with Christ is an absolute necessity". (this was written by Karl Marx on August 17, 1835 when he was seventeen years old).

God, sanctify us in the truth that we might be one in You

  • Pray for Willem’s mum as she continues her treatment that it will achieve all that is intended. Be with the whole family as they interact remotely with each other in supporting Brenda.
  • Pray too, for Simone’s mum and dad, for speedy and complete recovery after their recent surgery, and as they make plans for their future home as they both recover. Pray, too, for Willem, Simone, Amelie and Madeleine as they “minister to them at a distance”.
  • Pray for our government leaders as they consider the plight of the Tamil family and make decisions concerning their future. Pray for the right medical treatment for each family member at this time. Lord, please give us all hearts of compassion towards families who have come to Australia seeking a better life
  • Pray for all those in our Church family who are facing stresses of various kinds that they might know that you are the God who cares and we might be able to support them in prayer.
  • Ask God to show us how we should worship Him now as a Church, after worshipping at home privately and virtually on Sabbath for so long, and that our lives will be influenced by the reality of what He did so long ago.
  • Pray for continued healing and complete recovery for Gil, strength for Amy, and comfort for the whole family. Pray that Amy and Gil will have wisdom and favour as they make their move to Perth
Holy, holy, holy God, fill us with strength and courage, with discernment and compassion, that we may be your instruments of justice and love in this world, that it may be on earth as it is in heaven.
