Happy New Year to all our subscribers!  We are looking forward to all sorts of exciting things in 2016 - here is news of the first batch of events for the year ....

Earth Carers Course starts

Clean Up Claremont Foreshore 20th January


Our friends at River Guardians are working with all 21 riverside Councils to have people clean up the banks of our wonderful river during the Week of 18-24th January.  You can pick up bags and gloves from the councils and clean up your favourite part of the riverbank or you can join us!
Tag before and after photos with #cleanourrivers to share the results

When: 10am Wednesday 20th January
Where: Mrs Herbert's Park, Victoria Ave, Claremont
Bring: closed shoes, water, hat, sunscreen, friends

Racing to Zero trailer
Movie Night 29th January
We are excited to be able to show "Racing to Zero" on the lawn at our offices by the beach. The award-winning film follows San Francisco's innovative efforts towards achieving zero waste, thereby dramatically reducing the city's carbon footprint.
Our CEO, Gunther Hoppe, will also talk about how Perth is moving towards zero waste and answer any of your questions.

When: 7pm 29th January
( film from 7:30 - or whenever dark enough!)
Where: Lawn, Wearne House
Bring: Something warm if windy, rug, cushions, and friends. Low chairs fine, standard chairs will need to be at the back.
Catering: Teas/coffees etc provided

Clean Up Australia Day - 6th March

Be part of Australia's biggest community participation event! We'll be at Minim Cove again making headway on the waste that accumulates along the river bank and beach there.  We'll also do a tally of the material we find for inclusion on the national database. Followed by a barbeque (thank you to the Town of Mosman Park)

When 9-11 am 6th March
Where: near Stone Street, Mosman Park
Bring: Covered shoes, hat, water, friends and good humour.

About Earth Carers

Earth Carers do awesome events and programs like Plastic Free JulyBring One Get One TreeLess is More Festival,.  We provide bins for batteries, globes and other tricky things.  

Once you have completed an Earth Carers Course you can join our Earth Carers Volunteers who help us with all of these and more, come to special events and have a great time with Full Lives and Empty Bins!


Help Mindarie Earth Carers with rubbish at Skyworks - handing out waste and recycling bags to patrons, manning the recycling stations etc.  Bonus: you get a great position for the fireworks!
