Best of Luck to Nabilla and Gabs!

Dear Western,

We have happy news to announce from our Earth Carers office; both Gabrielle and Nabilla are both going to have babies! Nabilla is expecting her first baby in the end of September while Gabrielle will be adding to her little family in early September. We wish them and their families all the very best for their journey ahead. Rebecca and Amy will miss them terribly in the office but we will pop in on them for regular visits and cups of tea!

Rest assured, Earth Carers will continue on our good work in the community. Speaking of which, we have a couple of snippets to share:

MRC's Advanced Earth Carers Course

Join Peg and Anne for the Advanced EC course with Mindarie Regional Council. The course is an extension of knowledge and activities beyond what's covered in the Earth Carers course. Participants will hear and see how waste is dealt with on a commercial scale and then - the most interesting part - develop a project about some issue ‘addressing the waste stream’. This is not a scary thing and the projects are as big or small as your imagination and time. Contact Peg Davies at pdavies@mrc.wa.gov.au or mobile 0422 941 492 for more info.

When: Wednesday 22 July, 6pm
Where: Various locations

Transition Towns in the western suburbs- City of Nedlands

When: Monday 6 July, 6.00pm

Royal Show - save the date!
The Royal Show will be here before we know it. Once again Earth Carers metro wide will join forces to have a waste wise stall. Remember last year? We won an award for our stall! If you want to join us as a volunteer please save the dates - 26 September to 3 October.

Get your school Recycling Toothbrushes
Amy is busy rolling out a brand new toothbrush and toothpaste tube recycling program for schools. Terracycle will then turn all your old oral care products into watering cans, park benches and more If your school (in the western suburbs) wants to be involved email Amy for a box. If you're school is outside our region you can still sign up here

That's about all for now folks...oh, and don't forget to sign up to Plastic Free July!
