Water Bottle Refill Stations Save Thousands at Royal Show

H2O to Go station in useMany thanks to the volunteers who helped out at the Royal Show - we couldn't have done it without you!

Our water bottle refill stations and water fountain went to the Royal Show for the first time and were an instant hit!  There were often queues of people waiting for refills.

The units have meters on them and we did the maths.  They dispensed a total of 2106 litres of water during the week.  That equates to 3510 600ml water bottles that weren't bought.  Given that bottled water was being sold at $4 per bottle that equates to a saving of $14,040!  We are pretty impressed.  The H2O to Go water stations come from MeetPAT in Sydney and we are happy to lend them out for local community events.

Earth Carers Course Underway

Gunther HoppeWe have just started our largest ever free Earth Carers course.  34 people came to The Grove on Tuesday night for the first night of the course and learnt more about how much waste is produced in WA and what to do about it.  On Saturday we are off to Tamala Park Landfill to see what actually happens to rubbish in a landfill.  If you are interested in doing the next course in March email us by clicking here, and we will put your name on the list to be informed about it!
