Cottesloe gets a third 'green' bin
Cottesloe residents voted overwhelmingly in favour of a three bin system for source separation of greens and garden waste. In November and December single-residential properties in Cottesloe will receive a brand new 240L greens bin with a lime green lid at no additional cost. Around the same time, the lids on the 120L bins will be replaced with red ones.

The greens bin will be emptied fortnightly on the weeks that recycling is not emptied. The first collection of greens is planned for the week starting 16 December 2013.

The following items can be placed into the greens bins: lawn clippings, leaves, twigs, bark, flowers, plants, weeds, small branches and prunings. This will then be composted so it is vital there is no contamination. Bigger branches and tree stumps will be collected during the verge collections in March and September every year.

For queries contact Darrell Monteiro on 9285 5000. The Town looks forward to residents making the best use of the new three bin system.
