This year we have an extra boost for everyone - the Less is More Festival is a day of talks, sharing, ideas, demonstrations and fun on living less plastic - make sure you have 25th June in your diary!

Less is More Festival - 25th June
This will be such a great day filled with all sorts of things to help you get ready for Plastic Free July! It will include:
  • A keynote address from Rebecca on plastic pollution solutions inspired by her global travels
  • Talks and demos including fermenting, honey, weeds, wicking beds, personal stories, Ecoburbia and more
  • Ideas market for beeswax wraps,marine debris information, a chance to buy your Plastic Free July essentials, plastic free babycare, kitchens, homes, personal care, kids' activities and more...
Don't forget - Bring a contribution to the Plastic Free bring and share lunch!

The good idea that started in the western suburbs of Perth has gone global! Over 36,000 people in 90 countries took part last year. Join us for a day, a week or a month. Refuse plastic bags, straws, coffee cups and water bottles or all plastic packaging. Your choice, we're here to help!

From Cottesloe to San Francisco:
varied solutions to plastic pollution

On the first day of Plastic Free July,  join Churchill Fellow Rebecca Prince-Ruiz to hear about her inspiring journey through Hawaii, USA, UK, the Netherlands and Hong-Kong investigating innovative solutions to plastic pollution. Rebecca saw first-hand the devastation plastic can cause in our natural environment and met scientists, activists, policy-makers and educators who are all passionately working to address this issue.

PFJ Bush and Beach Cleanups

Join Earth Carers and students from Christ Church Grammar School to clean up some local litter hot spots for Plastic Free July! We will be tackling Buckland Hill Reserve first, then the following week we will be cleaning up Leighton Beach. 

Earth Carers will provide gloves, bags and other equipment, including a cuppa and light arvo tea – we just need helpers on the day. We will also spend a little time chatting about the issues of plastic pollution and how we can take our efforts beyond just cleaning up!

When: 22nd July and 29th July

Oceans and our World of Water

Rebecca is one of two guest speakers at this event to be put on by our Northern cousins to highlight some of the wonders and issues of oceans and fresh water.  Details - click here

About Earth Carers

Earth Carers work to make good waste practices normal in the Western Suburbs.  This includes events and programs like Plastic Free JulyLess is More Festival, and the Earth Carers Course.  We provide bins for batteries, globes and other tricky things.  

Once you have completed an Earth Carers Course you can join our Earth Carers Volunteers who help us with all of these and more.
