Easter, Spring & Everything Inbetween

Here at Gift to Nature, we are super-excited that Spring has finally arrived (even if the weather is behaving otherwise). Our rangers have been working hard to ensure our sites are ready for those Spring picnics and family days out. The shop is looking 'blooming marvellous' with a delightful array of Spring flowers, yours for as little as £1.00, and the yearly events calendar has begun, with our Geocache Easter egg hunt.

Rangers to the Rescue!

Thank you to everyone who came to our Planting and Pruning event at Sandown Orchard. It was great for us to catch up with friendly faces, old and new. Our rangers Nick and Ed enjoyed passing on their knowledge and the fruit trees benefited from a much-needed prune.
Don't worry, if you missed the Pruning event, and still have some work to do in your own garden- we've got it covered in this month's Ranger's Diary, where the guys keep us up to date with all their green-fingered action.

New Season, New Opportunities

With the change of season often comes a desire to take up a new hobby, if you fancy learning some new skills this Spring, why not volunteer with us? We have some amazing events coming up this year and you could be part of them. There is also the opportunity to work in the shop, our shop also sells new home and garden items so you can get involved in the gorgeous windows displays. Or if you're green fingered, you can focus your attention on our shop garden.

April's Site of the Month - Birchmore Pond

Most people reading this haven’t visited Birchmore Pond, and yet many of you cycle by each day. It is a haven for wildlife and a place to sit peacefully and listen to the birds. It’s also not too muddy at this time year either.

Local landowner Caroline Knox kindly let
s us manage Birchmore Pond and we have been working with the Green Gym over several years to open up the entrance, create an extra path and clear some of the brambles and scrub- which will make it more appealing to wildlife.
