Zakat Foundation of America

As the end of the year approaches, there is, yet, no end in sight to the suffering we see around the world.

Internally displaced persons in Iraq trudge through sand and sadness in search for safety, anticipating the coming of the cold. Refugees from Syria continue their search for shelter in the surrounding countries of Jordan, Lebanon, and Turkey, hoping to find a way of protecting themselves and their children from the cold this winter. The Rohingya refugees struggling to survive in makeshift communities in India stand waiting for support as the bitterness of winter approaches. And the list, unfortunately, continues on.

But there is a ray of hope.

As in years before, Zakat Foundation of America (ZF) is a dedicated participant of #GivingTuesday and has already mobilized for its winter campaign, an annual humanitarian effort to distribute winter clothing, blankets, and heaters to families in need around the world. Please note that your timely donation by #GivingTuesday on Nov. 29th counts toward your end-of-year tax deduction.

This winter, let your generosity warm hearts across countries like Afghanistan, the Balkans, India, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Nepal, Pakistan, Palestine, Syria, and Tunisia.

  • $150 can give warmth to a family by providing a heater
  • $60 can protect someone in need from the cold with a winter kit of warm clothing
  • $10 can be warmth and comfort for an individual or a family in the form of a blanket
