MC’s softball program is off to a strong start with an 11-6 overall record, including a 4-0 league mark. On the mound, Nicole Blackburn ’19, Casey Joliff ’19 and Katlyn Smith ’21 are throwing most of the Scots' innings. Blackburn is 3-0 with a 2.27 ERA, while Smith is 5-1 with a 3.00 ERA. Seven Scots are hitting .311 or higher, paced by Essence “Mercedes” Strambler’s ’20 .473 average. She leads the team in hits (26), homeruns (5) and RBI (20). The Maryville College baseball team has been ranked No.18 nationally by the American Baseball Coaches Association and Collegiate Baseball Newspaper in their initial in-season poll this spring. The No. 18 nod is the highest national ranking for the Scots' baseball program in school history.

MC freshman Kayla Zimmerman ’21 earned USA South Women’s Tennis Rookie of the Week after going 4-0 this past week. Her doubles partner is fellow rookie Anastasia Dunn ’21. Lambert’s team claimed the USA South Tournament title in his 701st career victory on Feb. 24, tallying an automatic qualifier to NCAA Tournament. On March 2, the team took its 19th trip to the Big Dance in St. Louis, Mo., and faced Nebraska Wesleyan University in the opening round

Coach Darrin Travillian’s women’s basketball squad finished third in the USA South Western Division with a strong 11-3 league mark. His Scots finished 17-10 overall with a trio of Scots earning All-Conference honors.
