J-Term is Underway

Since the mid-1980s, January at Maryville College largely has meant one thing to students: January Term (or “J-Term” for short). This three-week stretch sees students concentrating on only one course. Most are experiential courses, meaning they require students to get out of the classroom and DO. J-Term also is an opportunity for MC undergrads to explore a subject outside their discipline. Read what J-Term courses students are taking in 2015.

Networking Mixer

As a part of Maryville College Works, first-year students are enrolled in FYS120: Communications Strategies. A major experience of this course is a networking mixer scheduled for the morning of Jan. 15. If you’re available to talk with students who are considering your line of work, get details about participating from the MC website.

Observances for the holiday begin with a free screening of “The Great Debaters” on Jan. 16 and a performance of the Spelman College Glee Club on Jan. 17, both in the Clayton Center for the Arts. See what else is planned in Blount County and for the campus community.

Bicentennial Class

Freshmen who enroll at Maryville College this fall will graduate in 2019 – our Bicentennial year. Help us recruit for this important milestone! Share this link with prospective students and their families and encourage people to visit MC.

Outreach Events

’Tis the season for outreach events!  Maryville College administrators soon will be meeting with alumni and friends in Florida and Arizona. Be sure to check this page frequently and join other Scots and Scots fans when they come to a city near you.
