Isaac Anderson Cabin dedicated in new location

Seventeen months after being completely dismantled and moved from Knox County, Tenn., the 217-year-old former home of Maryville College founder Isaac Anderson has been fully restored in its new location on the grounds of the Great Smoky Mountains Heritage Center in Townsend, Tenn.

The Isaac Anderson Cabin was formally dedicated in its new home during a grand opening ceremony at the Heritage Center on Feb. 8 and is now a permanent part of the museum. Visit the MC website to read the press release, watch the video and see the photos!

Nashville Event

In its 200th year, Maryville College reflects on its historic commitments to diversity and integrated education and their importance in the 21st century. MC alumni and friends are invited to a reception and panel discussion, titled “Providing Access to Education: Maryville College’s Enduring Commitment,” on Tues., Feb. 26 at 5 p.m. at Woolworth on 5th in Nashville. February Meetings

Dr. Todne Thomas, a sociocultural anthropologist and assistant professor of African American Religions at Harvard Divinity School, will be the guest speaker for Maryville College’s 2019 February Meetings, which will be held March 24 and focuses on the theme “The Tie That Binds.” Visit the MC website for more details.

"Make Our Garden Grow” is the theme of the Maryville College Concert Choir’s 2019 Spring Choir Tour, which features an itinerary that includes performances in Tennessee, South Carolina, Florida and Georgia. If you live in those areas, we hope you plan to attend! Tomorrow, MC’s women’s basketball team competes in the quarterfinals of the conference tournament, while the men finish their regular-season play. Baseball and softball seasons are underway now; tennis begins next month. Are you following the MC Scots?
