Grey Lynn Free Food Pantry

We know how difficult Lockdown is for a lot of members in our community. For many, access to simple life necessities such as food and shelter is hard to find. So, if you have any food you can spare or have made too much for your own whānau, why not consider donating some to the Grey Lynn Free Food Pantry

This beautiful community pantry is located at 47-49 Ivanhoe Road, Grey Lynn and there are a number of people in our community who use it. If you know somebody who needs it or somebody who can donate, let them know! 

Grey Lynn Farmers Market Online!

Some of the Grey Lynn Farmers Market stallholders' produce is available to purchase whilst in Level 4. The GL Farmers Market have put together a list on their website of how you can buy stallholders produce. Check it out here

Some of the stallholders' produce is available on local heroes, Bread & Butter's website. Different stallholders' produce is available on different days, with fresh spray-free fruit and veges available for delivery on Sunday's if you order by Friday! Support local whilst in Lockdown, so that when we come out, you can keep enjoying all of these wonderful local growers and makers products.

Live Lightly during Lockdown!

Auckland Council's Live Lightly have put together a list of activities and fun ways to entertain the kids at home. Take a look at Live Lightly's eco-friendly activities that are easy to do and teach the importance of sustainability. 🌱🏡🥬🧅

SongWriters4ClimateAction!

‘Songwriters4ClimateAction’ has recently been established. Their aim is to write, perform and record songs revolving around climate action. It's awesome to see locals coming up with creative and enjoyable ways to raise awareness around climate change and lowering carbon emissions. They have been holding physical (and now online workshops) along with Holding Space Aotearoa, that anyone can attend. For more information follow Holding Space Aotearoa.

GREY LYNN 2030 COMMUNITY & FRIENDS

Kelmarna Gardens

Kelmarna Gardens annual Spring Seedling Sale is back, scheduled for Saturday 9 October, 9.30am - 12.30pm. The gardens will have a large range of vegetables, herbs, companion plants & more available for your summer veggie garden, with all proceeds funding Kelmarna's work to regenerate our food system and our communities. All going to plan (Alert Level dependent), the event will also feature Kōkako Organic Coffee, Bread & Butter Bakery pastries, home baking, & Kelmarna produce for sale.

Waitematā Low Carbon Network

The Waitematā Low Carbon network runs in partnership with the Waitematā Local Board and Auckland Council to build knowledge, awareness and action of low carbon initiatives in the local area. They are aiming to get as many menmbers of the community thinking about how they can take positive action or positively adapt their lives to reduce their carbon footprint. Join the Facebook group here.
