Capital Acquisitions Tax

With the increase in thresholds announced in Budget 2017; it is time that we look at planning for retirement.  While the involvement of a new generation in a business cannot revolve solely around tax issues, it is important to plan for the event and put the structures in place that will hopefully ensure a smooth transition.
In the Farming World the arrival of “Succession Partnerships” will focus discussion on succession.  The tax benefits of this are welcomed but the parties need to consider arrange of issues over the 10 year time frame.  With lower asset values it is nigh timely to embark on this process.  For further advice contact (Jim Gilligan) jim@gilligan.ie and Imelda Ryan iryan@gilligan.ie.
