Bite Sized
As Hunter starts to get a little older (and more independent), I find myself becoming not lazy exactly, but a little loosy goosy about how I serve his food.  For example, I might try to give him an entire slice of toast or bagel to eat.  Or an entire chicken tender to bite. Now, I know what you’re thinking, “The kid should learn how to bite off a simple piece of bagel for heaven’s sake.” Read more...

And the winner is...
Congratulations to user "Claycrew", the winner of the grill pan / griddle. Thanks to all of you for your helpful comments on the blog. Last week's meal times have been much better, especially when the kids are hungry. I have tried positive reinforcement, and wow so simple, but so effective (for a short amount of time anyway). In the mean time I'll keep dreaming of leisurely dinners -- someday. I hope you all got some helpful hints too! The winner of the best comment goes to 8 year old Lauren who recommends, "Get the boys some velcro pants!" Way to go Lauren! Read the blog...
This week's feeding tip:
Cut your kid's food up into small bites. It seems very simple, but even for my three year old, cutting the food helps him eat better. I've experimented trying to get my 11/2 year old to bite off things himself. Yes, he can do it, but he doesn't eat as well. If I chop everything up into manageable bites, he is more likely to gobble it down!  See all our feeding tips...
Chicken Verde Tacos
