Just the Tip #39
Love Conquers All. Or at Least the Rent.
G'day Buttercups,

Shortly after Jessica and I met, my living situation changed. I had to find a new place and fast. I hurriedly signed a lease at the first place I toured (the lessor was not even present). I was not sure exactly how I was going to pay the rent on this place. "I'll figure it out," I said to myself. I had better things to do than look for places; I had a new love interest.

Nearly a month passed and the lessor showed continued signs of negligence: failure to fix the AC, snorting blow in the bathroom of our house before heading to the gym. Typical landlord behavior, right? I decided to refuse the first month's rent on account of the AC being busted, because that was promised to be fixed before I moved in. I'm not sure if the AC ever got fixed, but I never paid a single month's rent.

Sure, I was taking a risk, but I didn't care. I had love on my side. I didn't care about anything else. It's that type of passion that lets the universe work its magic. What I've learned since is how to feel that same "new love" passion for every day of my life. When I am so passionate about life that I don't care about the risks, miracles happen.
