Exciting things are happening this summer!

You are invited to join in service this summer at Trinity’s Outreach Hub! The Hub’s focus is to welcome neighbors in need with radical hospitality - prioritizing dignity, providing tangible relief, and empowering each other, as we offer assistance, build relationships and create connections.

Try out some of the fun volunteer opportunities listed below, and see what excites you the most. There are several links to sign up; if a volunteer time doesn’t have a link, you can just show up or let me know that you’d like to join us! If you have questions, reach out to me anytime.

Spread the word to your Sunday School classes, small groups, friends, family and community - all are welcome, and many of these opportunities are great for the whole family. We hope you will come be a part of this wonderful experience as we show God’s love to this community. We can’t do it without you!

Summer Service Opportunities

Monday:

• 10:00-12:00  Food Share set up: unload or unpack our food bank order in preparation for Tuesday
• 9:00-11:00  Food Rescue and Food Bank drivers: sign up to “rescue” unsold food from 3 local Publix stores at 9:00, or pick up our order from the Community Food Bank of Central Alabama at 10:15. 
• 5:00-6:30  Outreach Hub Store helpers: Welcome your neighbors coming to shop for food, clothes and household items; assist with shopping and restock shelves. 
• 6:30-8:00  ESOL classes: join in as a teacher, volunteer, or substitute; this is a great opportunity for kids to get service hours and meet families new to our country. You can also sign up to bring a meal for our students: Sign up to provide snacks for ESOL students.

Tuesday:

• 10:00-12:30  Food Share prep: pack bags of nonperishable groceries, produce, meat for our afternoon distribution 
• 1:00-3:30  Food Share distribution: share food with guests in a friendly, drive through service (outdoors)

Wednesday:

• 10:00-12:00  Outreach Hub Store set up: Process, hang and shelve donations

Thursday:

• 10:00-2:00  Outreach Hub Store helpers: Welcome those coming to shop for food, household items, clothes and more; assist as needed, and come for any amount of time. This is a great time to use your Spanish skills if you have them! 
• 9:30-11:00  June 15, 22, 29, July 13, 20, 27 join us for our new program The Welcoming Table. Provided in partnership with local organizations, we will be offering a time of tea, fellowship and creativity for moms who are new to the country. We need volunteers to provide snacks, activities and/or play with the children! Sign up for the Welcoming Table.

Other Opportunities to Serve:

• Transportation Ministry: Many of our ESOL students and families new to the country have no transportation. Contact us if you’d like to help bring students to class, guests to shop at the Hub, or bring refugee families to doctor appointments.  
• Furniture Ministry: Have a truck or large SUV? We always need more help picking up and delivering furniture to our new neighbors. Contact us if you’d like to volunteer!
