Diabetes Awareness District Initiative
Lions Multiple District 39 is working on a partnership with Camp Hodia for diabetes awareness and for support of children and teens with Type 1 diabetes. Projects on the horizon include a half day diabetes event late spring or early summer in District 39W (chaired by PDG Tim Vincent), a potential LCIF Diabetes grant, a special interest Lions Club for diabetes support, and a visit by two LCI officials to Camp Hodia Teen Camp in June. How will your club support diabetes awareness and Camp Hodia? More details in the coming weeks!
Learn more about Camp Hodia on their website.
Multiple District Convention
The Multiple District Convention will be held at Sun Valley on May 24-26. Past International. President Wayne Madden will be the featured guest. The convention theme is "Honoring our Heroes" and a guest speaker from Mountain Home Air Force Base is scheduled. Please see attached registration and the district website for the tentative agenda.
Tech World - MyLion
Don't be left behind-MyLion is here! MyLion is the new Lions app and website for planning and reporting service activities. It will replace MyLCI activity reporting on July 1, 2019.
MyLion is not, however, just a different reporting platform. The app will allow any Lion to plan an activity or event using templates, provide information and maps, and invite Lions to join the activity, When the activity is complete, club officers (president, secretary, service activity chair, or club admin) will be able to report the number of volunteers and hours of service. Users can also share activities and follow other clubs and Lions to find out what they are doing. There is also a chat feature, allowing your club or committee to communicate privately.
Change is hard-but it's easy to get started now and learn about MyLion. The more people using it the better it will be! Download the app for your smart phone at this link: http://www.mylion.org/. This website is currently the promotional material for MyLion-in the future, it will be the link to the MyLion web version. To reach the MyLion web version now, use this link: https://app.mylion.org. You will use either your email or phone number on record with LCI and create a password. You will need your member number-ask your club secretary for your number.
MyLCI will still be used for membership reporting.
Don't wait for someone to forward the newsletter to you-get your own copy here!

Notes from the editor
If you are a club secretary or president, it's your responsibility to share the newsletter with your club-the mailing list does not, unfortunately, include everyone.
If you are not on the mailing list and want to be added, use the subscribe link or contact me directly. Snail mail available on request.
If you have club events, news, photos, speakers, projects to share, please send to me or to your zone chair for publication. Have a flyer? Send that, too. I can't make up enough stuff to fill the newsletter, although I try.
Publication is the 10th; deadline to submit news is flexible, but end of the month is preferred.
Comments, suggestions, complaints-always welcome!
