Idaho students need your help to continue learning now that schools are not in session. Idaho Business for Education (IBE) recently surveyed Idaho school superintendents and found that their greatest current need was getting computers, tablets and internet access to students so that they can continue learning remotely. Unfortunately thousands of students in Idaho don't have devices or connectivity at home. The Community Activation Project (CAP) is a plan to solve this problem.
How can Lions help? IBE is reaching out to business, organizations, and communities to collect usable computers and tablets (including chargers and accessories) and to donate funds to provide the internet connections. Lions could hold drives in their communities to collect the hardware and if desired, assist with sanitizing and wiping information from the devices. HP has provided protocols for these activities to keep everyone safe.
This is a project that covers the entire state. Regional team leaders have been appointed and they will be the contact anyone who wants to help. For the Treasure Valley contact Alishia Jonas, email@example.com. For Twin Falls, contact Shawnee Kyle , firstname.lastname@example.org. Contact the team nearest you.
If I can answer any questions, or if you are planning to participate in the program, please let me know.
