Winter Golf & Things to do

The amount of snow in the Treasure Valley has been great for our snow pack and winter sports enthusiasts; however, the winter weather has prevented the golf courses from opening during the month of January. The driving range at Warm Springs is open while the Quail Hollow driving range remains closed.

Here are a few things that golfers can do while waiting for Mother Nature to allow the courses to re-open:

Renew/Join the Idaho Golf Association (IGA)

IGA membership has many benefits, including establish/maintain a GHIN handicap, play in IGA tournaments and play in course tournaments & leagues. (Discount is only available online through the IGA; discount is not available at the pro-shops)

Attend the Boise Golf Show

In addition to the Quail Hollow and Warm Springs Association events listed below, save the date for:

April 9 & 10 - IGA Couples Mixed Chapman Tournament at Warm Springs Golf Course
The couples mixed chapman tournament will be limited to 60 teams, where teams are 1 male and 1 female; maximum handicaps allowed are 25.0 for men and 36.4 for women. Registration will open on March 1st. There will be a shotgun start for this event starting at 10 am.

2022 Quail Hollow Tournament Schedule:

April 9 - Spring Opener
2-Man Scramble, open to all golfers with a current IGA membership

May 7 - Hall of Fame Scramble
Fun scramble format open to Quail Hollow Men's Association Members as we induct another member into the Quail Hollow Hall of Fame

June 11 - Quail Cup
Ryder Cup format open to Quail Hollow Men's Association members

July 4 - 4-club Challenge
Individual stroke play tournament where players are limited to using only 4 clubs (you choose which clubs); open to Quail Hollow Men's Association members.

July 23 - 2-Man Combo
2-man teams compete in three different golf formats (6-holes of each format). Maximum handicap spread between playing partners is 7 strokes; at least one member on each team must be a Quail Hollow Men's Association member.

August 6 & 7 - Club Championships
Tournament will be flighted to include Ladies, Ladies Senior, Men's and Men's Senior. Champions from each flight will be invited to the IGA Tournament of Champions event. All participants must be a member of the Quail Hollow Ladies or Men's Golf Associations, and must have participated in at least one 2022 association event prior to July 31, 2022

September 24 - Cha Cha Cha Tournament
Unique and fun tournament where the best-ball scoring process changes (1st hole, you count the best ball of the foursome, 2nd hole, you count the best 2 balls of the foursome, 3rd, you count the best 3 balls of the foursome. The process then repeats so that we are back to counting the best ball on the 4th hole, best 2 on the 5th hole and so on.) Open to Quail Hollow Men's Association Members

October 8 - Player B Tournament
Everyone gets a second chance in this tournament; get the full details at the Quail Hollow Pro-shop. Open to Quail Hollow Men's Association Members

November 8 - Quail Hollow Men's Association Turkey Shoot
The Quail Hollow Men's Association will celebrate the end of the year with their annual Turkey Shoot. The foursomes will play a scramble, where the entry fee into the tournament is a frozen turkey to benefit the IdahoFoodBank. At least one person per team must be a Quail Hollow Men's Association member.

Skins Games on Saturdays - Check with the pro-shop for dates that the Men's Association will have these events throughout the year!

March 5 - Spring Opener
Individual Stroke Play event open to Warm Springs Men's Association members

March 19 - March Champ of the Month
Individual Stroke play tournament. Flights open to all members of both the Warm Springs Ladies and Men's Golf Association. All players must tee off prior to 11:30 am

April 2 - April Champ of the Month
Individual Stroke play tournament. Flights open to all members of both the Warm Springs Ladies and Men's Golf Association. All players must tee off prior to 11:30 am

April 23 - 2-Man Scramble
8 stroke maximum spread between partners; tee times from 8:00 until 10:30 am. At least one player per team must be a Warm Springs Men's Golf Association member

May 7 & 8 - Eclectic Tournament (1-Man Best-Ball)
Use lowest score of each hole from two days of play; tee times from 8:30 until 10:30 am. Open to members of the Warm Springs Men's Association

May 21 - May Champ of the Month
Individual Stroke play tournament. Flights open to all members of both the Warm Springs Ladies and Men's Golf Association. All players must tee off prior to 11:30 am

June 4 - June Champ of the Month
Individual Stroke play tournament. Flights open to all members of both the Warm Springs Ladies and Men's Golf Association. All players must tee off prior to 11:30 am

June 18 - Red/White/Blue Tournament
Warm Springs Men's Association members will tee off from various tee markers (red,white or blue) as determined by the tournament director. Tee times from 8:00 until 10:30 am

July 9 & 10 - 2-Man Combo
Warm Springs Men's Association event where 9 holes each Best Ball/Scramble/Chapman/Scotch formats will be played. Tee times from 8:00 until 10:30 am; maximum handicap spread of 8 strokes, at least one team member must be a Warm Springs Men's Association member.

July 23 - July Champ of the Month
Individual Stroke play tournament. Flights open to all members of both the Warm Springs Ladies and Men's Golf Association. All players must tee off prior to 11:30 am

Aug 13 & 14 - Warm Springs Club Championship
The Club Championship will include flight for Ladies, Ladies Senior, Men and Men's Senior Champions
All men's participants must have played in at least 2 other Men's Association Tournaments during the current year to play in the Club Championship; all ladies participant must be an association member prior to July 31, 2022.

August 27 - August Champ of the Month
Individual Stroke play tournament. Flights open to all members of both the Warm Springs Ladies and Men's Golf Association. All players must tee off prior to 11:30 am

September TBD - 2-Man Best-Ball
Men's Association Tournament where the maximum handicap spread between partners is 8 strokes. At least one team member must be a member of the Warm Springs Men's Golf Association. Tee times will be available from 8:00 until 10:30 am

October TBD - Champ of the Year
Players must qualify for this event; please check with Pro Shop to see if you have qualified

November TBD - Year-End Tournament
Scramble with 10:00 am shotgun start, open to Warm Springs Men's and Ladies Association members
