Please

This is a critical time
of year for the Friends of Grand Rapids Parks to raise the funds
needed to sustain and advance our mission to protect, enhance, and
expand parks and public spaces in our city.
Grand Rapids voters in November 2013 approved a short-term property
millage dedicated to improving the city parks system. Grand Rapidians
overwhelmingly rejected ongoing disinvestment in our parks, pools, and
playgrounds and voted “Yes!” for a higher quality of life.
We however receive no ongoing financial support from the voter-approved
millage or the City of Grand Rapids. Your
donation ensures Friends is able to support this valuable work for our
community.

When you donate to
Friends of Grand Rapids Parks, you support community problem solving
and real results. Whether it's fighting for park
land protection and expansion, launching innovative sponsorship and
volunteer programs through Parks Alive, growing our award winning Urban
Forest Project, serving as a community resource for park and forest
issues, or hosting unique special events that raise awareness about the
value of parks and trees, we are committed to charting a new course to
get the important work done for our community.
Friends of Grand
Rapids Parks is also currently raising funds to match a $25,000
challenge grant from the Steelcase Foundation for the neighborhood
sponsorship and volunteer program, Parks Alive. Each corporate
or business sponsor will have their sponsorship matched 1:1 until
January 10th, 2014. Each dollar your company contributes to
a new park improvement, generates another dollar to support the
program's volunteer engagement, park improvement and community
education efforts.
Please contact Steve Faber at 616-821-8006 or steve.faber@friendsofgrparks.org
