Bonga - Ministered on the Street
I did some training with Encounter Church on street prophetic evangelism. We wrote down what we believed God had for us and between the three of us we had amongst some other clues the following:
- Orange Shirt & Blue Jeans
- Lansdowne Street
- Head Injury
- "Everything is going to be ok" - the statement
- Yellow Shoes
As we were walking down the street we saw in a shop a mannequin with an orange shirt and blue jeans! So we went into the store. We started to chat with one of the sales clerks and found out he had a head injury whereby half his skull had been removed as a kid. So we asked if we could pray with him (he had told us he was a Christian). He opened up about his life and the things he had been through and Brendon, who was with me showed him the statement "Everything is going to be ok" at which point he began to cry. God then gave us further prophetic ministry for him and revealed some of his calling to him.
As we were about to leave the store we noticed that the other clerk was wearing yellow shoes! So we asked if we could pray for her. We asked if she had anything wrong physically with her and she said no. But I suddenly felt a twinge in my knee and felt it was a word of knowledge, so I asked if something was wrong with her knee. She told us her mother's ex boyfriend had hit her knee with a hammer and she was in pain. So we prayed for her and she was partially healed, but what she experienced really ministered to her as she experienced the presence of God come into the room. She was a backslidden Christian, so we had a moment to minister to her and encourage her in her walk with the Lord.
Rubble - leads to Salvation
Two weeks ago I went onto the streets with Andrew and Jason, and we went treasure hunting. One of the words we got was UCT Rugby fields. So we drove there and found two guys standing by the parking lot by the fields. Andrew started speaking to them and called Jason and I to come and pray. Whilst they were praying I got the word "Rubble", so I shared with the one guy what I got. He told me that his house had burnt down a week prior. I therefore had the opportunity to share the gospel to the two men. One of them was a Christian, whilst the other was not, and we had the privilege of leading him to the Lord.
I love watching God do these things, He truly is amazing, and loves to reach out to those who don't know Him.
