This Thursday (March 15th) is the last day to get $5 off on your ticket to see former United States Poet Laureate Billy Collins.
On April 1st at 5 p.m., O, Miami will present a reading by Collins and emerging poet Melissa Broder. Most of you know Collins. (Or, if you don't, click here.) His accomplishments speak for themselves, and any poetry lover who's heard him read once only wants to hear him read again.
Broder is a female Billy Collins in-training. (You heard it here first.) Her first two books When You Say One Thing But Mean Your Mother and MEAT HEART are similarly hilarious and heart-felt, and she even has a poem called, "Billy Collins" which is the first ever poem about a poet laureate to use the word "finger-bang." (I haven't looked this up, but I'm fairly confident in that statement's veracity.) Learn more about her by clicking here.
In short, it's going to be the most entertaining poetry reading you've ever been to. (I haven't fact-checked that statement either.)
Tickets are $10 for students. For everyone else, they're $15 right now, but that price goes up on Thursday to $20. Click here for tickets and more information.
