You are invited to attend:

O, Miami Information Session

Wednesday, February 27, 2013 from 8:00 PM - 10:00 PM

Would you like to be involved in the 2013 O, Miami Poetry Festival? Would you like to have your work published? Would you like to volunteer to help bring poetry to a wider audience in Miami-Dade County? Maybe even read with Inaugural poet Richard Blanco?

Come to the O, Miami Information Session on Wednesday, February 27th.

The purpose of this meeting is to inform local Miami poets of different opportunities for participating in the 2013 O, Miami Poetry Festival. English, Spanish, French, and Creole-language poets welcome. (The meeting will be conducted in English.)

In 2011, local poets worked with us to produce their own readings, proposed projects, collaborated, and contributed their work to a number of different events and projects. In 2013, we're expanding that participation exponentially.

We've parterned wtih WLRN/Herald News to create an original project designed to highlight Miami's poetic talent while simultaneously celebrating the places where we live. "The Poetry Guide to South Florida" will be the first-ever book that attempts to describe Miami-Dade County from a poet's-eye view. Want to be in it? Want to help create it? Come to the meeting and we'll tell you how.

And please forward this invite to anyone who might be interested!
