News from the College of Business

Happy New Year! It’s hard to believe we’re at the start of another semester and a New Year. We celebrated the end of the first semester with our December graduates and we welcome them as our newest alumni.  We look forward to staying connected to our new graduates in many ways, including this e-newsletter, our fall and spring alumni magazine, Prospectus, and through the many events we host each year.

We were saddened to learn of the passing of our Founding Dean, Charles (Chuck) Handy. Below you will see an article about Chuck that highlights the many ways he impacted Iowa State University and the College of Business. We will miss him greatly.

This semester, we continue to move forward with record enrollment and expanded programs. Please read the brief articles below to see a small sample of what’s happening at the College of Business. We have many exciting events planned for the remainder of the academic year and invite you to stay connected. The easiest way to do that is to follow us on our social media sites. All social media platforms are easily accessible from the bottom of this newsletter as well as our web site:

As always, we welcome visitors, alumni and friends here on campus. Should your travels bring you to Ames, or across town, please stop in to see us.

They Mean Business …. Seriously!
We’re always excited when our students and alumni want to be included in our promotional and marketing efforts here at the College of Business. At this time, we just happen to have three business students who are also knocking it out on the basketball court. Jadda Buckley is a marketing major from Mason City, Iowa. Matt Thomas is a management major from Onalaska, Wisconsin. Georges Niang is a marketing major from Methuen, Massachusetts.  We wish them luck on the remainder of their basketball seasons, and great success in the classroom! Watch for our spring issue of Prospectus, where we feature these and many more student athletes.
