With Valentine’s Day just a week away, it’s crunch time for deciding on how to celebrate the occasion. Indy is abounding with lovely little places to take your loved one for a special meal (Bluebeard, Recess / Room 4, and R Bistro are a few of our favorites).

But if you’re looking for a night in, there are plenty of delicious ways to enjoy it! Cooking up a meal with a special someone is just as fun - especially since you can have the satisfaction of creating the food you dine on.

This year, we’ve come up with a special Valentine’s Day menu featuring local produce - check out Indy Winter Farmer’s Market this weekend for the goods. Start with a refreshing salad of raw beets, kale, kohlrabi and carrots with a zesty grapefruit vinaigrette. For your entree, choose a roasted red pepper pesto linguine, with sauteed kale, feta, and toasted walnuts - or, light and fluffy ricotta dumplings with kale pesto.

And for dessert, pick up some local chocolates - try Litterally Divine from the Indy Winter Farmer’s Market.

Check out our recipes especially just for the occasion on A Couple Cooks - and happy cooking!
