Regardless of your feelings surrounding this marketers’ dream of a holiday, it’s a good excuse to indulge in some local sweets and treats. An Indy food-lovers Valentine’s Day Gift Guide is below, covering just a few of the presents you could be giving this February!

For the lush: Hoosier Mama Bloody Mary Mix. Honestly, this mix turned me into a Bloody Mary believer. It’s a delectable combination of sweet and spicy (plus the packaging is super sassy). Also, they now have margarita mixes!

For the sweet tooth: Best Chocolate in Town. Gourmet Assortments are my recommendation, because everyone loves a little variety, right? Beautiful wrapped and exquisitely hand-crafted, these chocolates are a perfect gift for any sweet tooth.

For your friends: Just Pop In! Everything about this brand just screams fun! They have a wide variety of signature collections all with themed flavors and colorful tins - perfect for gifts. My favorites include: Chocolate & Marshmallow, Mocha Choco Latte, Toffee Truffle Crunch and Choco Mint Stick. Your friends will love you for giving them this unique gift!

For the girly girl: The Flying Cupcake. Rosy pink packaging, poppy flavors and sweetness that only this bakery can offer, she’ll love a box of these Indy favorites. The retro vibe of the store makes it even more fun. My recommendations: Almond Joy to the World, Chocolate Ganache and Happy Birthday to Me! (Vegan and Gluten-Free options available, as well.)

For the guy: One word: Bacon. The Bacon of the Month Club from Goose the Market indulges the taste buds with these exotic offers of bacon. I gave this as a gift for Christmas and have received extremely positive feedback about this month’s offering: Chocolate Bacon. And, who doesn’t love a free t-shirt?

For the nostalgic: This peanut-brittle-esque treat lives up to the nostalgia of sweets you may have enjoyed growing up. Made here in Indianapolis, Frittle Candy is a must-have for anyone who loves local treats. Seriously, pick up a box for yourself too, you won’t be able to stop eating it!

For the creative: 240Sweet. Bourbon Sugar Churro with Cajeta, Draft Beer and Champagne. These are actual flavors of marshmallows from this Columbus, Indiana shop. Extremely unique offerings of homemade marshmallows feature usage of local ingredients, as well. How fun to enjoy with a cup of coffee or hot chocolate this winter!
