Another webinar with an expert from the International Advisory Council

Professor Giuseppe Mancia will be the guest speaker for the third webinar in the Meet Our Experts series on May 24, with a talk entitled White Coat Hypertension. Giuseppe Mancia is Professor Emeritus of the University of Milan and President of the European Society of Hypertension (ESH) Foundation. He is the recipient of many prestigious awards, including the AHA Award for Excellence in Hypertension Research, Heymans Award of the International Society of Pharmacology, Wright International Award of the High Blood Pressure Council of Australia.
Professor G. Mancia's main research interests are the epidemiological pathophysiology, diagnosis, and treatment of hypertension, heart failure and, coronary artery disease, as well as clinical aspects of diabetes, obesity, and other metabolic disorders. The scientist has extensive experience in ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, neurohumoral control of circulation, large artery mechanics, hemodynamic changes in cardiovascular medications, and epidemiological and interventional studies in hypertension and diabetes.

Collaborating with industry - a course for young researchers

From Scientists to Innovators for Industry is a three-month course consisting of online modules, seminars, mentoring sessions, and events that are aimed at Ph.D. students and young scientists interested in starting a career in industry or collaborating with industry on their research. Topics covered in the course include customer needs, design thinking and prototyping, strategic management, operations management, finance, and market access, and intellectual property.

The course is implemented by a consortium which, in addition to the Medical University of Gdansk, includes: the Medical University of Lodz, Universiteit Maastricht (Netherlands), National University of Ireland (Ireland), Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (Germany), Karolinska Institutet (Sweden), University of Copenhagen (Denmark), Boehringer Ingelheim RCV (Austria), Philips Electronics (Netherlands), Asociatia INIT with the FreshBlood HealthTech Community (Romania), DEX Innovation Centre (Czech Republic), MADoPA (France), Roche (Denmark).
Registration for the program lasts until June 30 on the project website.
