Certificate of Good Laboratory Practice for the Bioanalytical Laboratory of the Medical University of Gdańsk

The unit operating at the Department of Biochemistry has been awarded the Good Laboratory Practice Certificate. According to the decision of the Chemical Substances Bureau, the Laboratory complies with GLP principles in the field of bioanalytical, pharmacokinetic, and chemical tests. This is the first certificate received in Poland by a university unit for the above mentioned area of research.
The certificate was granted on October 12 this year on the basis of an inspection conducted in the Laboratory by inspectors from the Chemical Substances Bureau. It authorizes to perform pre-clinical and clinical research, which must be carried out in GLP standard.
Obtaining the certificate was preceded by several months of work by the entire team.

We encourage you to use the services of supporting structures

In 2021, as part of the implementation of the Excellence Initiative Program - Research University, a network of supporting structures was established. How do we help researchers?

Excellence of Scientific Publications Unit:
- we cover the costs of Open Access publication of articles in top scientific journals,
- we commission translations and language corrections,
- we prepare graphic materials (illustrations, charts, infographics) for manuscripts.

Centre of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics Analysis:
- we provide free consultations (biostatistics, bioinformatics, application of artificial intelligence),
- we help in applying for grants and writing scientific manuscripts,
- we conduct biostatistical and bioinformatics analyses.
With TTOPSTART to get more grants

Medical University of Gdańsk started cooperation with a consulting company TTOPSTART from the Netherlands, which specializes in supporting scientific units in obtaining research grants from Horizon Europe, especially in the area of life sciences. TTOPSTART advises among others Utrecht University and the Norwegian Research Council.
The aim of the cooperation is to prepare GUMed researchers to apply for European Research Council (ERC) grants. In the first place, support will be provided to scientists from Priority Research Areas. Research areas related to the competition topics will be identified, the potential of research teams and individual scientists will be assessed. Training and advisory services in the process of application preparation are also planned.
For more information on cooperation please visit the website.
