December 2015 News

Just a short note this month to THANK YOU for all your support in 2015, and to add a wish (and a little coffee) that you will join us for our 15th anniversary in April 2016!

IN THIS ISSUE:

As the year draws to a close, we hope that one of your top experiences of 2015 was watching independent film. Whether it was a fascinating feature during the 5-day Ashland Independent Film Festival in April, an eye-opening foreign film at Varsity World Film Week in October, or one of AIFF's inspiring special screenings of documentaries such as Iris, Meru or Old?! We hope you're looking forward to what 2016 will bring to our screens as much as we are. After all, we can’t do any of this without you!.

Please consider making a gift to the nonprofit Ashland Independent Film Festival. Large or small, each contribution is valued and appreciated. Donations are a vital part of the funding that allows AIFF to continue presenting independent film during the 5-day film festival in April, and throughout the year. We hope you will help us celebrate our 15th Anniversary next year. Your dollars help us:
  • Present the 5-day annual film festival in April with more than 19,000 attendees and 90+ films from around the world.
  • Expand cinema through education with the LAUNCH Student Film Competition, including the PridePrize for high school and college students, serving Southern Oregon and Northern California students all year.
  • Host filmmakers from around the world at AIFF during the five-day film festival in April, the Varsity World Film Week, and at special presentations throughout the year.
  • Underwrite Southern Oregon and Northern California filmmaker submission fees to the film festival.

Match your donation

It’s as easy as 1, 2, 3. Make a contribution to the Southern Oregon Film Society (dba the Ashland Independent Film Festival), followed by a matching donation to the Oregon Cultural Trust, and and you can claim a tax credit for the total combined amount. A portion of your AIFF membership is tax deductible and qualifies toward the matching gift.

As a small nonprofit arts organization, ticket sales cover only a portion of our annual operating expenses. Donor and Member support makes the presentation of our 5-day annual festival possible, and supports the presentation of independent film year round. Please consider a gift to AIFF and to the Oregon Cultural Trust. Thank you for your support!
