Karabakh Foundation Receives First Operational Grant from U.S. Non-profit
Washington, D.C. December 23, 2010The staff of the Karabakh Foundation is proud to announce that it is the recipient of an operational grant of $5,000 from the Allaverdy Foundation of New York.
The Allaverdy Foundation, a registered 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization, sponsors individuals and organizations pursuing educational programs. Special emphasis is given to projects concentrating on the Caucasus region.
The Karabakh Foundation would sincerely like to thank Mr. Constantine Sidamon-Eristoff and the Trustees of the Allaverdy Foundation for contributing to the promotion of Azerbaijani culture. Grants such these allow the Karabakh Foundation to continue projects such as the Azerbaijani Radio Hour, the Azerbaijani Documentary project as well as various exhibitions, dinners and cultural nights.
About the Karabakh Foundation
The Karabakh Foundation seeks to increase awareness and understanding in the United States of the cultural heritage and traditions of the country of Azerbaijan, the Caucasus area, and the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan. While coalescing significant artistic and scholarly talent, the Foundation is nurturing a new generation of artists and scholars toward important accomplishments.
The Foundation serves as a dynamic facilitator and clearinghouse raising the public profile of Azerbaijan, its Karabakh region, and the Caucasus region in general. Main activities include preserving and disseminating cultural content via archival collecting, public programs, publications, exhibitions, speaking forums, international collaborations, scholarly exchange, artistic sponsorship, and related venues.
