You're going to make 2017 the best year of you life! With some simple goal setting...
1. If you’re bored or your goals don't excite you, then you need to find a bigger or different challenge.
2. If you’re intimidated by what you're planning, you may need to work more on the required skill set to prepare for this challenge (specific training).
3. Or maybe everything's on track, you're on it!

Flow as an athlete

You've probably read the book Flow by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi. If not check out this TED talk below. It's an insight (or reminder if familiar with the concept), to help you plan an amazing 2017. The Flow concept can be paralleled with many great sporting legends. One that stands out for me currently is Kilian Jornet, who by many is considered the best male ultra runner of all time. Kilian is a classic example of someone who when he trains, races or simply takes on an adventure, is in “flow” big time! Watch the clip on Kilian's latest adventure, then if you have time, the TED talk. Draw some parallels to yourself and what you can achieve in 2017. No limits...

FLOW - BEING IN THE ZONE

In this TED talk by Mihaly, a renowned psychologist, he talked about flow, or more commonly called in sport, being "in the zone". He's not the liveliest character on the planet but bare with it. The points he makes are excellent! 
After watching this, think about the process Kilian went through. He chose a goal that excited him, prepared well and had a great adventure and experience not achieving it. He said he had a 50% success rate and that the non successes were in fact all opportunities. Therefore half the time he is creating opportunity and the other half he’s achieving his goals. A good space to be in!
