This year's theme is "Make it an Inside Job: Unlocking Success by Innovating from Within," and is all about unlocking nonprofit success from within.

The conference celebrates nearly 25 years of providing education, knowledge and tools to help build the capacity of the nonprofit community. Applications for Fast Pitch Tucson are open now through August 8, 2016.

Social Venture Partners Tucson is seeking applicants for their second annual Fast Pitch program, a free communication skills-building program for Tucson nonprofits culminating in a “Fast Pitch” competition – a high energy, rapid-fire presentation event where seven finalists each have just three minutes to share the mission, vision and impact of their organization with the judges and an audience of more than 500 people. The pitching organizations not only gain local awareness but can also win cash awards.

Through a competitive application process, 15 nonprofit leaders will be selected to participate based on their innovative approaches to creating social change and their potential for significant positive community impact. Those nonprofits will receive training and mentoring over the course of two months from volunteer business, marketing and coaching professionals on how to succinctly and powerfully “tell their story".

So if you want to pitch your story, don't delay. Applications are due August 8, 2016.

For more information and to submit your application, visit socialventurepartners.org/tucson/fast-pitch/

The Fast Pitch Showcase Event

The Fast Pitch Showcase will be held on November 10, 2016 at the Leo Rich Theater at the Tucson Convention Center.

2015 was Fast Pitch’s inaugural year in Tucson and made a big impact, resulting in over $100,000 in awards, grants and donations; $200,000 in media exposure; and $300,000 in skills building training delivered to nonprofits. Fast Pitch is changing the game, and providing new opportunities for the Tucson nonprofit community.

Human Trafficking. Free Information and Awareness Materials Available Online.

Human trafficking is the coercion of individuals to participate in forced labor, domestic servitude or the sex trade against their will. The Department of Homeland Security’s Blue Campaign works to combat the heinous crime of human trafficking by raising awareness around the country.

The Blue Campaign works with law enforcement, government, non-government and private organizations, to protect the basic right of freedom and bring those who exploit human lives to justice. The Blue Campaign provides free resources to educate and train professionals and the general public to recognize and report human trafficking.

How to Get Involved:

  • Download free Blue Campaign materials to post and distribute in your community at dhs.gov/blue-campaign/share-resources
  • Follow the Blue Campaign on Facebook, share their content, tag them in your posts about human trafficking awareness and education efforts and use #BlueCampaign and #endtrafficking.
  • Download the Blue Campaign PSAs and share them on your social media channels and with other organization in your community
  • Take the Human Trafficking Awareness Training online and encourage your employees, partners and community to take the training
  • Promote your organization’s work with Blue Campaign on your website or company blog
