Hi there,
Wow. Our spontaneous decision to go to Ibiza was the best decision ever! I’ve never felt more grateful for a vacation. See, sun, a super relaxed vibe - the pandemic felt very far away.
I’m now back in rainy Switzerland, but I’m taking the Ibiza vibes with me. So let me use my positive energy to jump right into this week’s list:
WHAT I DO EVERY NIGHT
No not that, you dirty little thing! I have two toddlers, remember? 😂
But what I do have the energy for every night, is a super simple gratitude practice. Just before we crash in bed, my husband and I tell each other three things that we are grateful for.
The human brain is wired to focus on the negative, and that can be very draining - especially during the pandemic. Gratitude shifts your perspective so you begin to notice and appreciate all the good things around you, and helps you to think more positively as a result.
Try it, and let me know how it works for you!
WHAT I WANT TO ACKNOWLEDGE
I know, the gratitude practice can sound a bit positivity guru-esk (Emile Ratelband anyone?), and I’m the first to acknowledge that we also need to make space for the challenging things in life.
And that is why I am so excited about our next WOMEN’S HUB LOVE SESSION on June 16th with my dear friend Larissa, where she will share what her father’s death taught her about life.
Dying and grieving are often such lonely processes, because most of us are dead-scared of death. That’s why I love that we will be using our cozy WOMEN’S HUB zoom room to connect over this topic with each other - and I would love for you to join us!
Curious, but not sure if this is something for you? Send me a message!
WHAT I AM PRETENDING NOT TO KNOW
One of the reasons I feel so at home in Zürich is that only one month after I moved to Switzerland, I met Nele Clüver, who quickly became a dear friend, and my partner-in-crime for the WOMEN’S HUB and our coaching program Thrive.
Entrepreneurship can be a lonely journey, and having her by my side this past year brought me so much joy, courage and laughter - it was a game-changer.
Unfortunately for me, she has been working on a little side project that is about to go public: she is about to give birth to a beautiful son! Of course, I am super happy for her, and there is also a part of me that’s sad and scared about not having her by my side as my sparring partner, cheerleader, go-getter and friend.
So dear Nele, I love that you are taking the time to hang out with your little one and I wish you and your little family all the best, and also, I can’t wait to regroup in September for the WOMEN’S HUB DAY 🤗
