Cochrane Ranche Days July 30 – August 1
Cochrane will celebrate its heritage and all things western during the Cochrane Ranche Days celebration later this week. This year’s event celebrates the 130th anniversary of the province’s oldest ranch, Cochrane Ranche, and will include wagon and pony rides, family games, an expanded Farmers’ Market, art displays, music, heritage activities and much more. The event is being sponsored by The Town of Cochrane, Sustainability Partners Uniting Resources (SPUR), Stockmen’s Memorial Foundation, Cochrane Tourism Association, the Cochrane Posse and other community partners. Look for events at the Cochrane Ranche Historic Site the weekend of July 30, 31 and August 1. Read more.
The Farmers' Market is in Season
Pathway 5 of the Cochrane Sustainability Plan is all about consuming the bounty of our local economy. There’s no better place to do that then at the Cochrane Farmers’ Market, where up to 50 vendors are on hand every Saturday, selling produce, arts and crafts, canned goods, baking and much more. Sponsored by the Cochrane Environmental Action Committee, the market is held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Cochrane Ranche Historic Site. Look for local farmers, artists, and entrepreneurs that “make, bake or grow it,” all on hand to share their wares.
CSP Breakfast of Champions
This April, Sustainability Champions joined together for a Breakfast of Champions, designed to help them share ideas, strategies and inspiration for sustainability initiatives across the community. The event was a great success, helping motivate businesses and organizations on the path to a sustainable future. Look for similar events in the coming months.

Be sure to check future editions of our e-news for more information on the activities, events and info that will shape the celebration, plus details on how you can get involved.
