Happy Friday Inhabitants!

If you’ve been enjoying all of the wonderful architectural activities that Archtober has to offer this month, why not show your appreciation by helping out some communities that could really use it? This Saturday, October 25th, Architecture for Humanity‘s New York chapter will be hosting Day of Impact 2014, a chance for volunteers to put in some sweat equity to rebuild and revamp areas of the city that are in need. Though the registration date has technically passed, there are still a few spots left to participate, so sign up here and make a difference!

Local Sweets

BabyCakes offers all-natural, organic and delicious alternatives free from the common allergens: wheat, gluten, dairy, casein and eggs. Rest assured, all sweeteners have been chosen responsibly and used sparingly; most products are sweetened with agave nectar—a natural syrup from a cactus. BabyCakes makes a wide assortment of baked goods including cupcakes, cookies, muffins, and much more.

The Sweet Life NY
The Sweet Life NY is a delightful family-owned gourmet candy and chocolate shop that has been a landmark on the historic lower east side since 1982. The owners continuously search the world to bring their customers the highest quality, most delicious dried fruit and nuts, gourmet chocolates, coffees, teas, candies, and everything imaginable dipped in chocolate. The stores motto is “anything can be dipped in chocolate!” With their in-house chocolate dipping machines, The Sweet Life offers exclusive and fresh handmade products daily; including chocolate-dipped sandwiches, softy pops and pretzels.
