Hey Inhabitants!

September has been nuts for the Inhabitat team - how about you? Between school starting up and a gazillion design festivals around the world, we've had our work cut out for us this month in trying to keep up with it all.  This week we've been bringing you lots of green design goodness from the London Design Festival and we also showcased the most innovative green designers on the eco catwalks at London Fashion Week over on our apparel design site Ecouterre. We're looking forward to an incredible set of events this weekend with the start of West Coast Green, the launch of the Better World by Design conference, and GreenhomeNYC's DIY Green Block Party, and looking towards October, an incredible exhibit about the BP Oil Spill we're hosting in NYC!

And, don't forget... if you still haven't filled out our reader survey, there's still time to tell us what you think about Inhabitat and have your voice recorded - complete it today for a chance to win a T-shirt or a $200 gift certificate to the Inhabitat Shop! And if you are an Ecouterre reader, please take our Ecouterre survey here - it's one more chance to win a chic black Ecouterre T-shirt and a gift certificate for $200!

INHABITAT NYC ART OPENING

NYers: Join Us For Mired in The Bayou >

We've all seen images of the Gulf Oil Spill - filmy waters, desolate shorelines and blackened, lifeless animals, but what about the lives and livelihoods that have been destroyed? On October 15th at the 99% Gallery in Brooklyn, NY, Inhabitat will present Mired in the Bayou, a brand new art exhibit opening in New York City. Mired in the Bayou presents a thought-provoking portraiture project, audio narrative and objects revealing how the BP Spill has impacted and continues to impact the community of people on the Gulf Coast. We'll also be hosting an opening reception that night from 7-10pm, so be sure to stop by if you live in NY! In the meantime click ahead for an online sneak peek of Mired in the Bayou.

Special thanks to Dot Editions for their support with this exhibit!
