Members submitted a record number of videos by emailing their channels, videos, and playlist links from Vimeo and Youtube this quarter. Thanks to our members, this is probably the biggest month of public content submissions in MTN's history.

We're honored to help you tell your story!
As featured in the Northeaster, this quarter, Salah Mohamed won the Midwest Emmy for AV All-Star! We are so proud of him and all of the students we partner with at Edison High School ... Go Tommies!
This quarter, the Loves featured two of our Minneapolis City Council Members on their show, Moving Forward with the Difference Makers. Both Andrea Jenkins (pictured) and Jeremiah Ellison were special guests invited in to discuss housing issues and other hot topics of the day.
One of our members is working with the Minneapolis Parks Legacy Society (M.P.L.S.) to document the history of the Minneapolis Parks and their humble beginnings at the Wirth House at 40th and Bryant Ave. S.
Tours are available throughout the summer and fundraising efforts are underway to help sustain the M.P.L.S.' important work.
In 2nd Quarter, we welcomed a new member from Germany. She was here as an exchange student through MCAD, and was doing a major project on the 100 year anniversary of the Bauhaus art movement. Her project came to its conclusion with an art-skype with different artists in Germany, all live-streamed from the MTN stage. Though she is back home now, she will continue to send in new video submissions through our YouTube/Vimeo link submission process!
Through a collaborative effort by a number of our members, a "Rally for Justice" was held at the government center after the sentencing of Officer Noor last month. This event was well attended by the Somali community and was captured by MTN members for airing on our channels.

This quarter we celebrated Art-Tech-a-Whirl, an MTN collaboration between The Minneapolis Art-a-Whirl and Creative Tech Week in NYC. As a partner event, we hosted glitch artists, virtual reality exhibits, multi-media performances, and kicked off a new permanent gallery space in our studios.
Dream First Born, Jew is our very first featured artist in the space. His black-light influenced paintings (pictured) are still currently on display!
Through our partnership with the MN Women in Tech, we hosted a Virtual Reality evening this quarter. A group of 15 people who had never immersed themselves in the world of VR came into the studios, learned a little bit about how it works, and had an amazing time creating assets that will air on our channels in the weeks to come.
School ended this quarter, and a class from the Summer Academy came on a field trip to MTN. They spent the day recording improv skits on the green-screen, learning how chroma-key and audio works, and having way more fun than should be allowed on a school project. Opportunities for other classes are available. If interested, please email to schedule.
We have new processes in place for the safety of our members. We now have a sign-in process for all visitors, and active members will be issued access badges for our now automated entryways. Members can pick their badges up during regular business hours beginning July 20th.
In 2nd quarter we ramped up our event live-stream capacities. From the Turtle Derby (pictured) to the NE Parade and the Great Immigration Debate with the MN Urban Debate League, we helped share these events with thousands of people in real time.

If you or someone you know has an event they'd like to have streamed live on social media and our channels, please email to discuss details!
We are currently looking for new board members, particularly people with a background in Legal, Finance, Human Resources, and/or Fundraising.
If you're interested, please apply here.
Our next board meeting will be held Monday, July 8th, 2019 at 6pm.
What's coming up this next quarter at MTN?

MTN will be closed to the public from the 4th of July until we reopen on the 20th. We will be resetting all of the studios and putting the finishing touches on our new badge access system. Members with standing appointments will be honored, but all new appointments are now booking for after 7/20/2019.

The rest of the Open Streets events happen this quarter!
You can find the dates on their website: and we will see you in the streets!
