What's in here:  A Mardi Gras/Valentine's present for you - free music!
Greg Horne Music News
February 12, 2013

It's a little late in the day, but there's still a shred of Mardi Gras left in my time zone. I had this cool idea to celebrate by sending out a download of my old song "Fat Tuesday," but then the day turned out to be very busy. So here it is just under the wire.

A digital 45 for the virtual jukebox of your choice:
Side A: Fat Tuesday MP3
Side B: Be With Me MP3

To download, right-click or control-click the title and choose "download linked file" (or the closest equivalent command). After downloading you can import the files into itunes or other music-playing programs.

What this is:
Between other projects and gigs in the last several months I've been working on remixing and remastering my second album, Floating World, which I initially recorded and put out in 1998. I've been using the project to experiment and work on mixing, while trying to cure some of the sonic missteps I made back in my younger days. Here is a taste of the results - a digital single made up of the first two songs from the album. It's a small thank you for subscribing to my newsletter. I appreciate your support more than I can say!

Both songs were recorded when I gathered with my old bandmates Michael Comstock and Tim Berry at Michael's Indre Studios in Philadelphia, back in 1996-97. We had been a band at the College of Wooster several years before, and Michael was just making a name for himself in the Philadelphia recording scene. I brought the tracks home to Tennessee and added the overdubs and final vocals. I don't do these songs much anymore (nor do I sound as young and fresh-faced), but I'm so happy to present them in a better light than I was able to back then. Keep an eye out for a re-release of the whole album soon, at least in a download format.
