Hi <<First Name>>

Did you make big plans for this year? Are your business resolutions holding up?

Make yourself a cup of tea and slow down for a minute – it’s time to check you’re heading on the right track.

It’s been a really busy January here at VC Towers, and we’re really conscious of keeping our goals clearly in sight. It’s easy to get pulled off course in so many directions, and we’re very aware of the need to stay focused.

Work to a plan

One of the things that we’re using to help keep us on track is our new content calendar (thanks Lizzie for the design whizzery). It’s helping us make sure that the content we create is the right stuff – that it’s aligned both to the subjects and challenges that our clients care about, and to our own business goals.

If you see us writing more about content strategy than page editing these days, it’s because we’re looking for more of the strategic projects and less of the web copy only ones. That’s because we really enjoy the strategy and story telling process, and it’s where we can add serious value to our clients. Website projects that start with strategy and proper planning always deliver better results than the ones where content people are brought in near the end just to drop the words in place. We’re using the content we share to help us get found for the things we do that will make the biggest impact for our clients.

What’s your sweet spot?

How about you? What’s your sweet spot? Find the place where your goals and your clients needs overlap and create content that delves deep there.

You can use the content calendar to plan and keep yourself on track. As you plan each piece of client centred content, think about what you want it to do for you too. What’s its purpose? How is it moving you closer to your goal?

Don’t create content willy nilly; have a plan, man! (tweet it
