Autism Research Participants Needed

African American Parents' Experiences Accessing Services for Children With ASD

Potential Participants: Please consider participating in this study if:
1. You are an African American parent or caregiver of an African American child who has a primary diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder,
2. Your child is in grades K-5 at a public school in Illinois and qualifies for special education and related services.

In appreciation for your time, you will receive $50 for participating in this study.

Impact on Dog Ownership and Autism (No Dog ownership necessary)
Caregivers whose family has children living with autism, with or without dogs, are sought for a 30-60 minutes interview about impact of dog ownership on physical activity in families. This study will examine the effect of dog ownership on the physical activity levels of family living with autism.Barriers and facilitators of owning a dog in family will also be studied. Join us in a non-intimidating environment and sample what the YMCA has to assist you in reaching your fitness goal. Regardless of your age or physical ability, we can help you get started. Each week we will try something new, working together in a small group, taking time to answer questions, correct body form, and get you off to a safe start!
