Women in Business' new innovative start-up programme, for women and delivered by women, began this month with 19 eager participants selected to take part in business training, mentoring and peer networking.  

Supported by RBS Inspiring Enterprise the programme will provide those in the early stages of business start up with the support and training they need to be forge ahead and form a successful business.

The launch of the DANI Awards 2015 took place today at Harlem Café, Belfast. The event officially opened the call for nominations and included the announcement of this year’s award categories as well as the unveiling of 3 new exciting categories!  

The DANI Awards which is the brainchild of Tyrone based digital marketing company DANI will showcase first class creative and digital skills, creativity and talent throughout Northern Ireland.

Rory's Irish Open Nike Shoes Designed by Local Kids Affected by Cancer
 
A young Newtownards girl who won a competition to design shoes for Rory McIlroy at a Cancer Fund for Children residential got to meet the World #1 golfer today at the Dubai Duty free Irish Open 2015.
 
Sara Lockhart is one of four young people affected by cancer have sketched their way to success winning a competition to design Nike shoes that will be worn by Rory McIlroy each day from May 28th to 31st during the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open this week

Lagan Dragons Launch Regatta
 
Cancer Focus NI is urging local business women to sign up to take part in the Lagan Dragon’s regatta on May 31. The family day out will be held at Bryson Lagan Sports, 2 Rivers Edge, 13-15 Ravenhill Road, Belfast, BT6 8DN.
 
Deirdre Conlon, Cancer Focus NI Head of Care Services, who goes out regularly with the paddlers, said: “Dragon Boat racing for women who are affected by breast cancer is well-known around the world but our team is a first for Northern Ireland.

Green Light for 4 Star Boutique Hotel in Titanic Quarter
 
Planning permission has been granted for a new four-star boutique hotel in Belfast's Titanic Quarter. Belfast City Council’s Planning Committee today approved the application from Titanic Foundation Ltd and Titanic Quarter Ltd, for the conversion and refurbishment of the Harland and Wolff headquarters and drawing offices into a 84-bedroom hotel with heritage-related tourist and event facilities.
