Belfast hosts 900 strong British Academy of Management Delegation

A delegation of almost 900 top international management and business academics descended on Belfast last month for the British Academy of Management's (BAM) Annual Conference, hosted by the Ulster Business School at the University of Ulster.

It is thought that the major three day conference, entitled The Role of the Business School in Supporting Economic and Social Development generated around £1.6 million for the local economy.

Rory McIlroy Launches Cancer Fund for Children Short Break Centre in Newcastle County Down for Families Affected by Cancer

Rory McIlroy today launched Daisy Lodge, Cancer Fund for Children's therapeutic short break centre in Newcastle, County Down.

The facility, the first of its kind in the UK and Ireland, will provide every family affected by childhood cancer in Northern Ireland with a free therapeutic short break and also caters to families in the Republic of Ireland.

LSH Promotions and Modelling have had quite a Month!

LSH promotions and Modelling have had quite a month so far! Their show in the Chelsea Winebar featured two worldclass Ulster grand prix winning motorcycle racers, who have since chosen to be represented by the agency.

Gareth Keyes took to the catwalk like a duck to water and adored posing with the models as seen in image, Jamie Hamilton on the other hand who is used to travelling 180mph plus on bikes found it more nerve wracking than any race.

Women can set their sights on any career they wish and, with the right qualifications and experience, can enter professions which were previously bastions of male domination. But industries in the STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) sector in Northern Ireland are struggling to attract female employees. In high level STEM posts men continue to outnumber women by more than three to one.

University of Ulster's Business School Plans to Expand Suite of Accounting Degrees

"Accountancy skills are not just a critical component of the current professional services boom, they are essential to the long-term growth the N I economy," says Professor Gillian Armstrong, Head of Ulster Business School's Department of Accounting, Finance and Economics. In response, the Ulster Business School is launching an expanded suite of Accountancy programmes including three new degree courses which will begin in September 2015.
