When Disaster strikes

Earthquakes, tsunamis, nuclear emergencies....are you at a loss as to how to talk to your kids about these disasters?  Here are some resources you might find helpful in explaining today's news to your children. 

The
United States Geological Survey website includes puzzles, games, quizzes, videos and more for kids to learn about earthquakes.

Visit the
National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration and download the Tommy Tsunami coloring book to teach kids about tsunamis and emergency preparedness.

PBS Parents offers an online resource for talking with children about the news.

Come ride the

DINOSAUR TRAIN!!!

Join OWL, WSKG and the Leatherstocking Railroad Historical Society on April 13th for an activity filled train ride based on the PBS show Dinosaur Train.  Bring your camera and take photos with Buddy the T-Rex!  Trains depart from the Milford Depot at 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.  Tickets are $7.50 per person.  Under 2:  FREE.  To make your reservation, call LRHS at 432-2429.
*  All Dinosaur Train activities are free with purchase of a ticket.
