IHE Solutions on Display at HIMSS Showcase

As it has since 2000, the HIMSS15 Annual Conference and Exhibition will feature demonstrations showing the benefits of interoperable health IT systems in improving healthcare. HIMSS will present the Interoperability Showcase in collaboration with IHE USA, April 13-15 at McCormick Place, Chicago. The Showcase offers real-world clinical scenarios in health provider, emergency, chronic care, public health and ambulatory settings. It also features a variety of educational presentations on topics related to standards and interoperability, including success stories from industry leaders. Learn more here.
 

Luxembourg Ministers to Open IHE Symposium

IHE-Europe will hold a Symposium on Wednesday, April 22, in conjunction with its annual Connectathon (April 20-24) at Luxexpo in Luxembourg City. The Symposium will include presentations on IHE-based information exchange programs, emerging technologies like mobile health and the newly launched conformity assessment program. The program will be opened by the Prime Minister of Luxembourg, Xavier Bettel, and the Minister of Health, Lydia Mutsch. The Luxembourg E-Santé national program leverages several IHE profiles, notably Cross-Enterprise Document Sharing (XDS), to deliver interoperability to clinicians and patients. Learn more.
 

Showcase of Medical Device Integration at AAMI

IHE profiles from the Patient Care Device domain will provide the foundation for a showcase demonstration of medical device integration at the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) 2015 Conference and Expo, June 5-8 in Denver, Colorado. The AAMI HIMSS Interoperability ShowcaseTM will be expanded to help health technology professionals understand how they can improve patient safety and clinical outcomes by adopting standards-based interoperability. ISO Publishes IHE Technical Reports on Global Standards Adoption

Three new technical reports have been published by ISO that were developed by IHE International in collaboration with ISO Technical Committee (TC) 215. They describe the IHE process, its catalog of IHE profiles and the way profiles are implemented in deployment projects. The reports are intended as a resource for project leaders to evaluate and benchmark their approach to interoperability.
