Greetings From Mia Park
The world is still on fire and I'm feeling the flames in the health and well being of my loved ones. A friend's cancer returned. Another is battling a rare infection. Yet another sadly lost their child. Never mind the larger world of racism, terrorism, and America's mentally unstable president. How the heck are we supposed to get through these tough times?

We get through by understanding and managing how we individually operate in order to better understand and manage how the world operates.  We are a microcosm of the universe. We can't deal with what's out there if we can't deal with what's in us.

I was recently burning in the fires of transformation. I experienced incredible rage towards anyone that dissed me including my new neighbor, the guy who cut me off in traffic, and that damned squirrel who eats the bird food. I actually enjoy warring with the squirrel, and to be honest, I loved allowing that much rage to course through my veins. As my wise friend James Tennant says, "Feel everything. Suppress nothing." My challenge is to feel the feels and manage my behavior wisely. I admit that I failed at behaving kindly while feeling rage-tastic even with my years of spiritual practice. And this is where understanding myself better helps.

I understand that I am still learning how to be fully present to what's actually happening and not react to how I'm feeling about what's happening. I understand how frikking difficult it is for me and humanity to do this and I welcome compassion to inspire me  how to interact with others.

"Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle."

Let's be kind to ourselves and to each other as best as we can. It's all practice, it's all an exercise, there is no finish line, we are managing the tough times together.  We got this!
