Hello Lemonade, Goodbye Strep

Well, my good record has been tainted, an ugly red mark in my ledger. No need to worry though, I didn’t commit a crime. The good news is that now I don’t have any trouble remembering the last time I was sick. The bad news is that... I am sick. My strep came on really fast, but I intend to knock it out just as quickly. Here’s how...

In a way it serves me right. I was just at a fantastic conference in Texas telling folks that I couldn’t remember the last time I was sick, and I owed it to Double E Immune Booster Tea. If I am ever feeling tired or if there is a possibility that yucky flu bugs are floating around, I usually guzzle Double E. The past four months of traveling and lack of sleep must have messed with my good sense though, because I didn’t guzzle. I am guzzling now though and you should be too!

I have used this favorite remedy of mine countless times and it is actually what made my very un-herbal brother a “believer”. He had strep last year, and in a moment of weakness was convinced to try my Spicy Lemonade. It killed the strep in less than 48 hours. Need I say more?

— Spicy Wintertime Lemonade Recipe —

2 fresh garlic cloves, crushed
1 tablespoon freshly grated ginger root
Juice of 3 freshly squeezed lemons
Organic Honey to taste
Small pinch Cayenne Pepper (WARNING: not for the faint of heart)

Before we get started, if you do not have the fresh ingredients listed, you can just as easily make a tea from dried herbs. It will be less potent, but better than nothing. Add Garlic, Ginger Root, and Lemon Peel to boiling water; then steep and strain off the herbs. Stir in honey and cayenne to taste and you are ready to drink and be merry!

For full healing benefits, use fresh ingredients this way:
Add all ingredients to a blender and cover with hot, but not boiling water. You can make your lemonade as mild or strong as you like depending on how much water you use. Process until smooth, maybe add a little more honey to taste and drink your way back to good health!

Lauren Brandt

P.S. I am going to try Shoshanna’s Herbal Throat Spray as well, but hopefully my Spicy Lemonade will do the trick in record time. After all, I have plans Saturday.
