Did You Remember the Milk?
When I was without my computer last week – had to go to the shop for hard-drive issues – I did some reflecting on how I have my “office” set up. A buddy of mine suggested the online task organizer called Remember the Milk. Pretty snazzy and accessible from any computer…if yours should need to go to the shop for repairs…

If You Get It, Share It
If you’re a social media novice, social media expert or just an inquiring mind, you should become a member of the Social Media Club of Des Moines. And the best part is that it’s free to join! There are monthly networking and educational events listed on the Club’s calendar. If you’re looking to learn more about social media or to get connected to like-minded individuals, you should check it out…I promise...we won’t bite…
LinkedIn Info Nugget
On your LinkedIn profile, change your Title from “Marketing Manager” to a list of the skills you have. When people search LinkedIn, they’re not looking for someone with a specific title – there are so many different titles out there – they’re looking for people with specific skills. This is especially the case when recruiters are looking to hire. So, take a few minutes, visit your LinkedIn profile and edit your Title; a couple days later, search for one of the skills you entered “social media coaching + LinkedIn” and see where you appear in the results…You can thank me later…

Suzanne is a Des Moines transplant who has realized the Power of being a Free Agent. Well-versed in many and varied skills, she has a passion for helping organizations and people achieve their potential. Suzanne = wife, traveler, multi-linguist, triathlete and cook.
I initially meet Suzanne through the Unemployed in Des Moines networking group she started. I was instantly inspired by her enthusiasm, initiative and resourcefulness in successfully creating her own consulting business – Contemporary Business Solutions. I recently attended her Social Media Workshop Series which I would highly recommend as a wonderful introductory source to gain instant knowledge in social media. She continues to be a key mentor as I now navigate developing my own consulting business. Her multi-faceted business expertise coupled with her “get it done” attitude proves to be a great resource for both start-up and well established companies.
