How To: Permission Marketing

A business has better success with drip marketing if they first get the permission of their clients or prospects. Let’s take the e-newsletter for example. People who opt-in to receive your e-newsletter WANT to receive it; they’re giving you permission to drip on them with your marketing message. On the other hand, if you gather business cards from networking events and add people to your e-newsletter list without them opting in, they haven’t given you their permission and they may think negatively about your business by sending them unsolicited information.

The Straight Dope on Facebook, Twitter and SEO

I found this great article put out by www.copyblogger.com. In summary:

Using Twitter and Facebook to:
  • generate links and also …
  • get content in front of readers and …
  • develop relationships with other content marketers that will earn you high-quality organic links (the old-fashioned kind) and …
  • let prospective customers come to know, like and trust you and …
  • translate online connections into real-world relationships and …
  • do market research by listening for customer problems you might be able to solve …
…that’s a smart long-term play that will build your business.

Testimonial

I initially meet Suzanne through the Unemployed in Des Moines networking group she started. I was instantly inspired by her enthusiasm, initiative and resourcefulness in successfully creating her own consulting business – Contemporary Business Solutions. I recently attended her Social Media Workshop Series which I would highly recommend as a wonderful introductory source to gain instant knowledge in social media. She continues to be a key mentor as I now navigate developing my own consulting business. Her multi-faceted business expertise coupled with her “get it done” attitude proves to be a great resource for both start-up and well established companies.
