CONSULTATION ON STRAND ALDWYCH PROPOSALS CLOSES ON WEDNESDAY 13 MARCH 2019
Westminster City Council’s consultation on fresh new proposals for the Strand Aldwych area closes this Wednesday. As an iconic gateway to the West End, the area is home to an extraordinary number of cultural, educational, creative institutions and many businesses, with established residential neighbourhoods nearby. However, the area also suffers from significant challenges – poor public spaces and safety, traffic congestion and air quality issues – which means those who live, work or visit get a poor experience.
The council has worked with local organisations to develop some fresh ideas for the area, which will enable the district to fulfil its potential as a creative and learning quarter for London. We want the input of residents, students, businesses, venues, organisations and community groups to help shape the next stage of design work. All of the feedback received will be analysed and used to help develop detailed designs for further consultation in late 2019.
