Rabe to Make Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge Debut
Sept. 15 2014 | For Immediate Release

Monticello, NY – Open-wheel racer and driver coach Jason Rabe will make his sports car debut this weekend at the Circuit of the Americas as he gets behind the wheel of the Bodymotion Porsche Cayman. Rabe has put together a strong F2000 Championship Series season highlighted by a number of Hard Charger drives, and will also run the Road Atlanta event in October.

From podiums in SCCA regional racing in a Spec Racer Ford, Rabe’s 2014 season has also included both the F2000 Series and Pro Mazda Championship. He's also getting seat time in a variety of cars while coaching members, guests, and during racing schools at the Monticello Motor Club.

“It’s been a very diverse year thus far,” said Rabe. “I was always a fan of versatile racing drivers, not just competing in one make of racecar or series. Getting the opportunity to race Porsches on TV and in front of a big crowd is an absolute dream come true.”

Rabe’s story is one of motivation, as he went from sleeping in his car and working (flagging) corners at New Jersey Motorsports Park to working on SCCA entries for seat time, and eventually finding himself as a professional instructor and driver coach, and now competing professionally.

“I can't thank my sponsors Delaware Investments and Monticello Motor Club enough for their ongoing support and opportunities this season,” Rabe added. “The CTSC has great exposure, racing in these events will hopefully get my story out there even more.

"Chasing dreams at first is kind of crazy, dreams becoming reality, working hard and never giving up is how we're adding the next chapter in this unique story,” he continued.

Earlier this year, Rabe took the Expert Class victory in a Pro Mazda on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Road Course, and ran eight F2000 Series races, advancing the most positions of any driver through those eight – 35 to be exact.

About Jason Rabe: Always being obsessed and fascinated by racing, Jason literally dropped everything he had and moved to New Jersey Motorsports Park chasing a dream. At that point, he was living in his car secretly at the track and looking for anything motorsports-related to do. Now, a business owner and professional driving coach, Rabe runs events in select F2000 and Pro Mazda races. Click here to learn more about Jason.
